Money: This is the Age When Most People Claim Social Security — and When Experts Say You Really Should

Bill Van Sant, senior vice president and managing director at Girard, is included in Elizabeth O’Brien’s Money article explaining at what age you should start claiming Social Security. Van Sant says many people don’t understand how Social Security benefits are taxed and don’t realize all the upsides to waiting to claim. “The majority of folks know they get a penalty if they take it early, but they might not know about delayed retirement credits.”
